Homage to our unconditionally compassionate and warrior-like Shamarpa
From Chris Kok
Our Shamarpa is like a warrior except he is fighting for everyone else but not himself. His bruises and wounds are many. His bruises come from the numerous blessings and empowerments which he unconditionally did for us and all sentient beings. His wounds come from his taking a strong and unyielding position in the protection of the heritage of Karma Kagyu. Life would have been different if he had chosen to pick cherries in high mountains and practise dharma all by himself. However, that would not be Shamarpa and it is not the way of life Shamarpa would choose.
